Wynn Las Vegas will equip all its guest rooms with AI by next summer

In a Wednesday announcement, Wynn Las Vegas said that, by next summer, all the 4,748 guest rooms of the resort will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI).

According to the announcement, the Amazon Echo voice-controlled digital assistant will be installed by Wynn Las Vegas in all its guest rooms. The Amazon Echo is a standalone cylindrical device which is capable of responding to voice commands and can deliver information via its Alexa AI.

With the planned move by Wynn Las Vegas indicating that the resort will set a new standard for the hotel industry in the region, Steve Wynn – Chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts Ltd. – said in a statement that the resort will, thanks to a partnership with Amazon, become the world’s first resort which will enable guests to “verbally control every aspect of lighting, temperature and the audio-visual components of a hotel room.”

Steve Wynn also touted the impending installation of Alexa in all Wynn Las Vegas guest rooms as “yet another example of our leadership in the world of technology for the benefit of all of our guests.”

He said: “If I have ever seen anything in my 49 years of developing resorts that has made our job of delivering a perfect experience to our guests easier and help us get to another level, it is Alexa.”
