Los Angeles Judge awards Sterling’s Estranged Wife $2.6 Million from Stiviano’s Stash

Donald Sterling's flamboyant ex-mistress V. Stiviano has been living large on millions of dollars worth of gifts that he gave her while he was separated from his wife, since previous year's Los Angeles Clippers debacle that disgraced his name and cost him the team.

On Tuesday, a Los Angeles judge has awarded Sterling's estranged wife Shelly $2.6 million from Stiviano's stash.

The 80-year-old billionaire gave trinkets, including Ferrari, the two Bentleys, the Range Rover, the $1.8 million duplex and for good measure, the $4,570 Louis Vuitton suitcase, etc to the thirty-something woman, who said that it was 'a relationship built on love', not on money.

The long legal battle between the two women came to an end on Tuesday. During the battle, Shelly Sterling argued that the money and gifts her husband generously lavished on Stiviano, weren't his to lavish. She said that it was joint property.

The assets earned in marriage belong to both the parties in California and cannot be given away without consent. And in this case, Shelly Sterling definitely did not consent.

Shelly's attorney Pierce O'Donnell told the Associated Press that she is thrilled with the decision.

By the way, the dispute started even before Stiviano somehow leaked a recording between her and then-Clippers owner Sterling. In the recording, the world heard him telling her not to bring black people, especially Magic Johnson, to his games.

On the following day, Clippers President Andy Roeser released a statement and said that Stiviano had vowed to 'get even' with Sterling. Eventually, Donald Sterling was ruled incompetent, banned from the NBA for life, fined $2.5 million and forced to watch his wife selling the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Attorneys played the recordings on Stiviano's cellphone in court. It indicated that the two were trying to hide the gifts from Shelly Sterling.
