HTC unveils three new Desire handsets

During a quiet media event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 at Barcelona, Spain, on Sunday, Taiwanese device maker HTC demonstrated three new Desire handsets --- Desire 530, Desire 630, and Desire 825.

The new handsets unveiled by HTC at its MWC media event are not the company’s new flagship handsets. Instead, they comprise an affordable line of new HTC handsets; with the Desire 530 and Desire 630 being low-end models, and the Desire 825 being a bigger, yet affordable, handset with impressive specifications.

Introducing the three new Desire handsets, HTC said that the devices will be available for purchase from the website, as well as from other retailers, from March 2016. The expected price of the handsets has, however, not been divulged by HTC.

Both the Desire 530 and Desire 630 handsets will be almost-identical 5-inch budget handsets. The main difference between the two handsets is that while Desire 530 will feature an 8-megapxiel rear camera; Desire 630 will boast a 13-megapixel rear camera, along with Hi-Res audio headset and sound capabilities.

The Desire 825 model will also come with Hi-Res audio headset, as well as HTC BoomSound with Dolby Audio, and the company’s full SensorHub suite. The handset will feature a 5.5-inch HD display, and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

HTC has revealed that each of the three Desire models will boast a unique design; thanks to the company’s use of a distinctive splash of paint -- underscoring a ‘Micro Splash’ effect -- on the cases of the handsets.
