According to an XperiaBlog report, the rollout of the Android 7.0 'Nougat' software update has been started by Sony for one of its high-end handsets --- the Xperia X Performance.

The Xperia X Performance smartphone was launched by Sony this year, after an official announcement of the handset at the Mobile World Congress held in February. The device has now reportedly started receiving the Android Nougat update after waiting for it for slightly more than three months since the latest Android version hit the AOSP code repository.

The XperiaBlog report, about the commencement of the rollout of Android Nougat update to the Sony Xperia X Performance with effect from Tuesday, is in line with some of the previous reports which had disclosed that the company would soon begin testing the Nougat version for the handset.

In revealing that Sony has now commenced the Android Nougat rollout to Xperia X performance owners, the report said that the software upgrade for the handset is presently limited only to a few regions.

More specifically, the report said that, as of now, the Android Nougat upgrade is only compatible with the Xperia X Performance devices with model number F8131, and F8132. The mentioned model numbers underscore the handset's dual-SIM version which is also called the Xperia Performance Dual.
