Some in-testing Xbox 360 games for Xbox One leaked accidentally

In an official statement posted on Reddit on Sunday, Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb said that some Xbox 360 games being tested as potential backwards-compatible titles for Xbox One had accidentally become available for digital download via the Xbox One Marketplace.

With regard to the inadvertent leak of the officially unreleased games, Hyrb said that, because of an error, some of the Xbox 360 games which Microsoft is presently testing for availability on Xbox One had become digitally downloadable by gamers.

With the leaks of the games having come earlier than their official launch, Hyrb also said in his Reddit statement that access to the digital downloads of the games has now been removed by Microsoft until the release of the games is officially announced.

The Xbox 360 games which became available to be digitally downloaded on Xbox One, via the Xbox One Marketplace, included titles like Red Dead Redemption, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, among others.

In his statement on Reddit, Hyrb said: "We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon."
