Samsung expected to unveil next-gen Galaxy handsets at ‘Unpacked’ event, Feb 21

According to reports, the next-generation version of bigwig South Korean device maker Samsung's flagship Galaxy handset - the much-rumored Galaxy S7, and its Galaxy S7 Edge counterpart - will likely be launched in March this year.

Hinting at the forthcoming availability of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets, Samsung has revealed in a recent announcement that it will host its 'Samsung Unpacked' event on February 21, in Barcelona, Spain.

Going by the speculations, Samsung will likely unveil its new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets at the 'Samsung Unpacked' event; and will announce the availability of the two handsets for purchase a couple of weeks later. As such, both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets are expected to hit the markets in the first or second week of March.

Meanwhile, so far as the expected specifications of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets is concerned, several rumors and leaked benchmarks have unofficially confirmed that the new Galaxy handsets will be the most powerful Samsung smartphones ever launched.

Some of the key features of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets include a new and improved Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 8 cores; 4GB of RAM; a new 12-megapixel back camera; a massive 3,600 mAh battery. The Galaxy S7 will have a 5.1-inch Quad-HD AMOLED HD display; while the Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD AMOLED HD display. Both the handsets will run Android 6.0.1 'Marshmallow' out of the box.
