Retro Computers will start shipping Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega console in Feb. 2017

According to a BBC report, Retro Gaming Computers Limited has revealed in a recent announcement that it will start shipping the first batch of its much-anticipated Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega handheld console in February 2017.

The announcement of the February 2017 shipping date for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega handheld console -- which has the support of Sir Clive Sinclair -- comes after a few delays. The console -- for which Retro Gaming Computers launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, and raised £500,000 ($0.6m) -- was initially scheduled for shipping in September 2016.

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega handheld console has been developed by a former ZX Spectrum games developer Chris Smith. The console, which comes pre-loaded with 1,000 games, is described as a new low-cost gaming device which is based on Sir Clive's immensely successful Spectrum products of the early 1980s.

The easy-to-use Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega handheld console can plug directly into a TV; and, as such, no computer monitor is required.

Meanwhile, apologizing for the delay in the shipping of Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega handheld console, Retro Computer's Managing Director Suzanne Martin said in a recent update on the console's shipping details: ".we needed this time to improve the product and we have now completed the necessary revisions and we are delighted to announce that we will ship the first units in February 2017."
