Netflix allows Android users to download shows to SD cards

Around a year after allowing Android user to download some its popular shows and movies for offline viewing, Netflix has now made the feature more appealing for users who might be running out of storage space on their devices.

Unlike Apple iPhones, Android devices offer ability to expand storage via SD card slots. SD cards are a great way to store more photos and films that would otherwise fill up your device's internal storage.

Now, Android users can use a SD card to store Netflix TV shows and movies, and watch them anytime they want, potentially opening up hundreds of GBs of more space.

The newest version of the Netflix app offers a new option in App Settings for Download Location. It asks users to select where they would like to save their shows or films - the phone's internal storage or the SD card. One can even save shows or films to multiple cards.

However, a Netflix representative cautioned, "There are limits to how many simultaneous downloads a member can download at one time, along with limits on how long a download will remain accessible. This ensures that the feature is being used for its intended purpose."

Saving TV shows and movies to SD cards may seem like a petite feature, but it will likely make a big difference for Netflix bingers who often are short on storage space.
