Los Angeles Rams Lose to Eagles

The Los Angeles Rams have had a great 2017 season. They are now 9-4. This has been a huge turnaround from the disastrous 4-12 season that they had in 2016. One of the biggest reasons why they have played so much better has been the maturity of QB Jared Goff in his second year. He did not play well at all as a rookie. This led many people to call him a bust as the number one overall pick in the draft. However, those people are eating their words this year. He has become the leader of a team that is filled with many young players who are very talented.

The Rams faced the Philadelphia Eagles and got involved in a very high scoring affair. The Eagles have the best record in the NFL. They continued to play well and won the game over the Rams by a final score of 43-35. However, it was a very costly win for the Eagles. QB Carson Wentz was knocked out of the game with an injury. It is believed to be a torn ACL. If this is the case, he will not be able to play for the rest of the season. Wentz threw his 32nd TD pass during the game. This broke the Eagles team record for most TD passes in a single season by a QB. Many people in the media believed that Wentz was going to win the most valuable player award. This is a devastating blow to an Eagles team that has Super Bowl aspirations. Nick Foles will be the new QB of the Eagles until Wentz is able to play again.

The loss was a big one for the Rams. They are in a tough fight with the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West title. The Rams are in first place. However, the Seahawks are only one game back with an 8-5 record. The Rams caught a break when Seattle lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Rams need to avoid having the same record as the Seahawks at the end of the season. This is because Seattle would win the tiebreaker over the Rams.

The good news for the Rams is that they still control their own destiny. The Seahawks will not be able to win the division as long as the Rams keep winning. This is very possible because the Rams have an easier schedule than the Seahawks.
