LG G6 may have upper hand in fight against to Galaxy S8

South Korean electronics giant LG’s upcoming G6 smartphone could gain the upper hand in its potential competition against Samsung’s eagerly-awaited Galaxy S8 handset. The G6 is going to be one of the first global smartphones to have a massive display taking up nearly 80 per cent of the screen, with a “bezel-less” design, like several other high-end phones that will hit the market this year. It boasts dual cameras and two vital features that 2016’s G5 lacked -- waterproofing and wireless charging. In addition, G6 is expected to hit the market earlier than S8, which is scheduled to be released on March 29, 2017. The only major differences that may come down to the Galaxy S8 are curved screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and Bixby AI assistant. G6 will have Snapdragon 821 chipset, and Google Assistant on-board. LG’s G6 will cost a little less than the S8 and S8 Plus smartphones, while presenting most of the same experiences as the Samsung handsets. Thus, many buyers will not like to part with additional cash just for a bit more polish. LG can also benefit from starting with a cleaner slate as Samsung is still trying to pick up the pieces from its Note 7 debacle that forced the company to ditch the smartphone.
