Huawei unveils its latest Android-based handset --- Mate 9

In a recent announcement, Huawei introduced its newest Android-powered handset --- the Mate 9. The new Huawei smartphone is nearly the same size as the Apple iPhone 7 handset; and boasts a unibody metal frame and sandblasted texturing.

Unveiling the new Mate 9 handset, Huawei said that the device will be priced at $776, and will first be made available for purchase in the following countries --- China, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

The Mate 9 handset will come in several color options, including Black, Ceramic White Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Space Gray, and Mocha Brown.

Huawei also said that it will, later on, launch a $1,553-priced limited edition Porsche Design version of the Mate 9 handset.

According to the details shared by Huawei about the Mate 9 specifications, the handset will feature a 5.9-inch full HD touch-screen display; a Kirin 960 chipset with an ARM Cortex-A73/A53 octa-core processor; a Mali G71 octa-core GPU; 4GB of RAM; 64GB of built-in storage capacity; a 4,000mAh high-density battery; and a dual-camera module with a 12-megapixel F2.2 RGB color sensor and a 20-megapixel F2.2 monochrome sensor. The smartphone will run the latest Android OS version 7.0 ‘Nougat.’
