HTC’s next flagship handset – ‘HTC 10’ – will be unveiled on April 12

In an announcement made via an email on Tuesday, HTC said that it has efforts underway to introduce its next flagship handset -- likely to be dubbed 'HTC 10' -- on April 12, 2016, in an online-only event.

The forthcoming high-end HTC handset was first unveiled by the company during 2016 Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain, in February. In its unveiling of the new flagship handset, HTC had given a glimpse at the device's profile in a Twitter post, accompanied by the #Powerof10 hashtag.

The tweet hinted that HTC was probably planning to bring about a change in the way it names it flagship devices. With the company having used letters like A9 and M9 for its premium smartphones till now, the upcoming handset will drop the letters from the nomenclature, and will simply be called HTC 10.

A teaser of the forthcoming HTC 10 handset was released by the company last week, when it published an image of the device showing some camera lenses. The teaser featured the following words: "World's First, World Class, Front and Back. You'll see."

Some of the features of the attractive-looking HTC 10 handset include a 5.15-inch display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor;
4GB of RAM; fingerprint scanner; USB Type-C; and microSD expansion card.
