Harmonix scraps plans for ‘Rock Band 4’ PC version

In its latest update pertaining to the Fig crowdfunding campaign for launching a PC version of the popular 'Rock Band 4' console game, developer Harmonix has revealed that the crowdfunding campaign has failed to achieve its targeted goal of $1.5 million.

The disclosure by Harmonix means that plans for the PC version of Rock Band 4 have been scrapped, at least for now.

For bringing Rock band 4 to PC, Harmonix had sought a $1.5 million funding on the Fig crowdfunding platform. Another $500,000 required for launching a PC version of the game was to be contributed by Harmonix itself, if the crowdfunding campaign met its goal.

However, at the end of the deadline of the Fig crowdfunding campaign for the PC version of Rock Band 4, Harmonix managed to raise only $792,000 --- that is, approximately 50 percent of its targeted goal.

As a result of the failed crowdfunding campaign, Harmonix has said that it will not proceed with the PC version of Rock Band 4.

About the failed campaign, Harmonix said in a statement that "there doesn't seem to be enough of an audience to make Rock band for PC a viable project for us right now."
