Dyson launches $500-priced air purifier for US and other markets

UK-based company Dyson has announced the launch of a new air purifier -- called 'Pure Cool Link' -- for the US and other markets across the world. The device is a brand new version of an air purifier which Dyson has released only in China a year back.

The new Pure Cool Link air purifier launched by Dyson this week is priced at $500. The purifier hit the US markets on March 30; and is launching in Europe and Asia on March 31. In the US, it is initially available through Dyson. com; with retailers likely to start selling it from April 11.

The air purifier will be available in two versions --- a 'tower' version designed for bigger rooms or for putting on the floor; and a 'desk' version designed for placing on desks or tables.

According to the details shared by Dyson, the Pure Cool Link air purifier is a 'smart' device, which comes with a 360° glass high- efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filter. The purifier boasts connectivity with iOS and Android smartphones via the Dyson Link app.

The Pure Cool Link air purifier gives users the ability to monitor the quality of air -- both inside their homes and outside -- through BreezoMeter data.

Going by the claims of Dyson engineers, the Pure Cool Link air purifier improves the quality of indoor air by automatically removing "99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns."
