Cyanogen expands list of CyanogenMod 14.1 supported Android devices

In a recent announcement, Cyanogen Inc. has revealed that it has expanded support for official CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly builds to a number of devices, including LG G3, LG G Pad, Asus ZenPad 8.0, Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia M.

The announcement implies that even though Cyanogen Inc. is struggling as a company, it has been leading a community of developers effectively in terms of providing a steady stream of CyanogenMod updates in a timely manner.

So far as CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly builds – which are already based on Android 7.1 Nougat – are concerned, Cyanogen had announced the development of CyanogenMod 14.1 last August; and had rolled out the nightly builds for a few Android-powered devices some time back.

The initial set of CyanogenMod 14.1 supported Android devices included the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Xiaomi Mi3, LG G4, and ZenFone 2.

Now, in announcing that CyanogenMod 14.1 support has been expanded to a second batch of Android devices, Cyanogen, in listing the devices, said that it has efforts underway to roll out the CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly build to the Nexus 4 handset as well in the near future.
