Casio, Michael Kors set to foray into Android Wear smartwatch market

According to reports, Casio and Michael Kors are set to launch their respective new, super high-end wearable devices powered by Google's Android Wear smartwatch software.

Casio has unveiled its marvelously rugged smartwatch -- the Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 -- at the CES event earlier this year. The company has now announced that the smartwatch is scheduled to hit the markets on March 25, 2016.

Going by the details shared buy Casio, the retail price of the forthcoming Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 will be $500. The device will come with a number of sensors including air pressure and altitude. In addition, it will also boast a "dual layer" display which will have the capability to switch to monochrome to offer extra battery savings to the wearers.

Meanwhile, Michael Kors is also gearing to make a grand foray into the Android Wear smartwatch arena with two sleek and beautiful Android Wear smartwatches. One of the Michael Kors smartwatches will feature a stunning gold-plated design for women; while the other one will be a sporty black smartwatch for men.

The retail cost of both the Michael Kors smartwatches will begin at $395. The devices will be available for purchase from department stores, as well as Michael Kors stores, in fall 2016.
