Asus may introduce its ROG GX501 gaming laptop at CES 2017

Laptopmedia has revealed in a recent report that device maker Asus will probably unveil a new gaming laptop -- called the Asus ROG GX501 -- at the CES 2017 event scheduled to be held in Las Vegas next week.

According to the report, based on the information shared by the Taiwan Excellence Awards, the forthcoming Asus ROG GX501 will apparently be a powerful and highly portable gaming notebook, with a fairly thin 16.65mm chassis.

The Asus ROG GX501 notebook will reportedly ship with the highest-end Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU. The new Nvidia GPU will evidently mark one of the most impressive accomplishments for the ROG GX501 notebook because the GPU has identical specifications for both desktop and mobile versions.

Though Asus will have to tweak to slightly tweak the newest Nvidia GPU to make it fit into the ROG GX501 notebook’s thin chassis, the GPU will give the device the kind of power which is required by a remarkable machine for mobile gamers.

Meanwhile, other than the Nvidia GeFore GTX 1080 GPU, some of the other notable features of the upcoming Asus ROG GX501 notebook include a 15.6-inch 4K Ultra HD display supporting Nvidia G-Sync; a processor from Intel’s Kaby Lake line, probably a Core i7-7700HQ or Core i7-7820HK; and support for up to 24GB of DDR4 RAM, along with PCIe x4 NVMe SSD storage.
