Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions and Grindstone Entertainment Group have released the first clip for the new thriller Maggie, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Abigail Breslin and Joely Richardson.

The movie was premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday. In the movie, ‘Terminator’ and ‘Expendables 3’ actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has portrayed a softer and tender-hearted role.

The film revolves around a deadly zombie virus that has put a plague on the world. Little Miss Sunshine’ actress Abigail Breslin has played the character of Maggie, a teenage girl in the Midwest, who gets infected by a zombie virus during an outbreak.

Schwarzenegger who has played the roles of Maggie's father, Wade faces the difficult choice of quarantining his infected daughter or to live with her in her last days.

He ultimately brings her home to let her be with the family. Maggie finds comfort in the care of her father despite her looming death.

The trailer displayed star power, horror, suspense and riveting performances that will keep moviegoers on the edge of their seats.

As Maggie's condition worsens, their relationship is tested, a father's love holding on stronger than the disease.

Maggie's condition increasingly worsens. Her skin starts to fray, her limbs start to loose and starts to vomit disgusting substances.

Schwarzenegger continues to provide her comfort while her unsettled stepmother (Jolely Richardson) and their young son both keep their distance from her.

Schwarzenegger said, “Maggie is something that I’ve never done before. I thought that now, having been a father for 25 years, I’m ready for something like that. I can relate to the situation. It’s a movie I could have never done in the past. Now was the appropriate time to do it”.

Maggie will hit theaters on May 8.
