Apple TV gets its first ticketing app with launch of StubHub

On Monday, StubHub announced the launch of the first-ever ticketing application for Apple TV. StubHub already has apps available for some of the other popular Apple devices -- including the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch -- as well as Android devices.

The launch of the new StubHub app for Apple TV will give the users of the device the ability to find tickets for forthcoming concerts, sporting events or comedy shows. For its Apple TV-centric ticketing app, the key focus of StubHub has been to enable Apple TV users to browse upcoming events in their area.

In announcing its new app for Apple TV, StubHub said that the app will only be available on the fourth-generation Apple TV, and will become available for download with effect from Monday itself.

For the ticketing app for Apple TV, StubHub has effectively used the device’s big screen format, with some notable features like its side-scroll user interface, high-resolution seat maps; and use of event imagery for attracting the interest of the users.

About the StubHub app for Apple TV, Marcus Shelksohn -- director of mobile product at StubHub -- said: “We know that most people will be interacting with our app from their couch, as they’re looking for something to do, so we kept the StubHub app for Apple TV focused on and discovery, to better motivate people to get up and get out.”
