Hepatitis A Outbreak Declared an Emergency in Southern California

More than a dozen residents of San Diego have died as a consequence of a Hepatitis A virus infections during a period of declared emergency. According to a news report broadcast by a Los Angeles NBC affiliate, public health officials have counted more than 500 Hepatitis A infections, of which 357 patients were admitted to the hospital. A total of 19 people suffered from a fatal infection.
